Writing a Book | Three Simple Steps for Success

Countless individuals are overconfident that they have what it takes to write a book. Some even assume that they could complete a novel. Nevertheless, only a few them can even start making one and the number even continues to dwindle when talking about completion or publishing the book. Who can blame them, after all, you must really be devoted when writing a book since completing just one can consume a lot of time. Furthermore, a book writing job is known to be a profession that may inhibit social interactions which is another cause as to why several people are unable to attain completion. But to help you finish at least one book, you may want to follow these strategies.

1.) Selecting a topic

To start the guide in writing a book, acquiring a topic is the beginning point of your task. However, do not just pick any topic. You have to get something that is included in the top list of your interests. Remember that it takes how many days or even months to complete one book and without any enthusiasm on the topic, you will be one of those individuals with unfinished results.

When you have decided on what general topic you will be writing, specify the certain points for you to have a basis. Sometimes, this strategy is more advantageous to the fiction writers since they can create their own imaginations unlike the non-fiction writers.

2.) Planning

Before writing a book, there are those writers who prefer to plan from beginning all the way to the end. Some would prefer to do some analysis about their formats. It is really your prerogative as to how you want to deliver your style of writing. But if you are still a neophyte, or someone who cannot stand methodical approaches, then it is better to stick to plain planning. You do not have to place a lot of effort and you also do not have to focus on every single detail. It is really not that difficult that as simple as providing a bird’s eye view about your book would suffice.

3.) Starting to write

Now that you have planned on what topic to write, here comes the hardest part: writing itself. In writing a book, do not just stick to planning or saying the things that you want to jot down. You have to actually do it and start your task. To succeed, you really have to make time for it, not just inserting it to your busy schedules since that attitude can lead you to nowhere. Even an hour of writing per day can be a great help! Furthermore, make sure that you have a comfortable environment while writing. If you think that watching TV programs or listening to the music is a distraction, then shirk those activities and focus to writing alone. And of course, if there are other individuals in the house, advice them to avoid disturbing you while you are working.

As soon as you are done with your first blueprint, never go with the editing immediately. Your tired brain may not be able to handle it and you may not spot any errors that need to be revised. Place your book in a safe place and rest for a few months. Afterward, you may now start editing your book which is sometimes hated by other individuals. But whether you like it or not, editing is part of the task before publishing it. You don’t want to publish something that is full of grammatical and spelling errors right? And believe me, there is no such thing as a perfect book without the process of editing.

Finally, there may be instances when you are no longer motivated to finish the book that you are writing. If that situation occurs, try to assess it. You may be having other problems that have affected your work in writing a book. Always do some evaluation and solve your problems right away in order for you to succeed and publish the book that you have invested a lot of hard work.
